Social Media & Content Manager
Reports to: Head of Social and Content
AKA is one of the world’s most successful entertainment marketing agencies with offices in three continents across the world. We are a full-service advertising and marketing agency for theatre, live entertainment, film, music, museums, galleries, events and attractions, working with some of the country’s leading organisations.
Position Objectives
- Devise and implement the content strategy across a wide range of West End, Touring and UK Theatre productions and live entertainment.
- Create engaging and stand out content both for organic and paid social media campaigns.
- Maintain excellent client relationships across a portfolio of accounts.
- Provide the necessary audience insight and reporting, to ensure effective delivery across all content channels.
Deliverables
Strategy and organic content management:
- Devise and implement, engaging and targeted social media strategies in line with campaign goals and audience objectives.
- Use a variety of tools to create engaging and stand out content across all channels.
- Work with the Strategy and Account Management team and Creative Studio, to create more complex and hero content pieces when required.
- Produce regular reports, analysing and interpreting the social media data, to inform future campaigns and improve channel engagement and performance.
- Present strategy to clients and key stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Deliver robust campaigns which increases awareness, loyalty and word of mouth to grow social communities, increase purchase intent and ultimately drive ticket sales.
- Shape and adhere to the correct tone of voice to deliver on-brand content.
- Ensure that social communities are actively managed, with customer queries answered swiftly and escalated where necessary.
- Keep on top of social trends and relevant news, to deliver creative content which taps into the zeitgeist.
Undertake duties to lead on the management and delivery of campaigns and reporting:
- Build knowledge of clients, competitors, and the general marketplace.
Identify and report on trends to key agency stakeholders and clients on regular basis.
- Proactively monitor competitor landscape
- Staying up to date with the latest social media and digital marketing news
- Support social media & content team with communicating news, compiling, and sharing case studies, managing AKA social media channels and sending weekly email updates.
- Develops and maintains excellent relations with internal agency departments.
Contribute to excellent client relationships across a portfolio of accounts:
- Take a leading role on accounts, for strategy and social content management, reporting directly to the client, in association with the account lead.
- Build a good understanding of each client’s social proposition, business goals and challenges, their competitors, the environment in which they operate and their audiences.
- Assist in driving the wider AKA team to deliver outstanding client service by anticipating, recognising and meeting client needs and provide the best value for money in terms of cost/advice.
- Develop and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through all forms of communication.
- Act as an ambassador for AKA within the industry by building relationships with key contacts and suppliers and by attending trade and press nights and events when required.
Other Duties as Assigned
AKA is a fluid organisation and advertising is a fast moving and rapidly changing business; as such you may be required to undertake duties which are in line with the general purpose of this job description, but which are not specifically referred to. Some out of hours working (evenings and weekends) are occasionally required to ensure that time-sensitive social activity is delivered when required. This includes but is not limited to theatrical press nights, gallery openings, client and industry events etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Skills/experience: Transferable skills from previous jobs and/or education.
Technology: Advanced knowledge and understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok and YouTube. Knowledge of and proficiency in PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Analytics and confident in the adoption of new software and reporting systems.
Graphic Design: Understanding and experience using the Adobe Creative Suite or similar application.
Person Specification
- 3+ years’ experience working in a similar role with transferable skills.
- Experience of working in an advertising, media or marketing agency and/or marketing department.
An understanding of the industry and a passion for theatre, museums, galleries or live entertainment.
- Excellent communication skills including copywriting.
Strong administration skills with the ability to prioritise and organise workload in a fast-moving environment with reliable follow through.
Ability to work independently, take responsibility and show initiative.
- The ability to solve problems, make decisions and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
A ‘can do’ attitude, willing to go the extra mile with confidence and a professional outlook.
Work well under pressure.
- Good knowledge of social media networks and functionality - experience using social media tools and platforms such as Hootsuite and Sprinklr
- Evidence of having run multiple social media accounts simultaneously and optimizing copy and creative dependent on platform and objectives.
- Basic graphic design skills with experience working with technology platforms and software such Photoshop and After Effects, as well as various apps in order to create dynamic content.
- A highly creative and imaginative approach, able to critically evaluate and develop ideas.
- NB some out of hours working (evenings and weekends) are occasionally required to ensure time sensitive social activity is delivered when required and needed.
